FAQ’s for Parents Regarding Alpha Child Care
Our goal is to provide your child(ren) with a safe and fun environment that gives you to the opportunity to be fully present at Alpha as you explore life’s big questions. See below for some FAQ’s about Alpha’s child care.
Who is watching my child(ren)?
All adult child care providers have their safeguarding certification, and high schoolers are selected to help based upon recommendations demonstrating their responsibility and skill.
Do I need to bring anything?
It depends on the age of your child and his or her needs.
Ages 0-1
Bring any labeled milk, pre-made formula, or snacks that you would like us to provide to your child, along with diapers, wipes, a change of clothes, and any other regular baby care items. Please let us know about any specific needs that we should be aware of, such as colic, acid reflux, teething, special feeding instructions, etc.
Ages 1-4
Bring any labeled milk or snacks that you would like us to provide to your child, along with diapers, wipes, a change of clothes, and any other items that will help your child feel comfortable. A note on potty training: even if your child is potty trained, we still ask for you to pack an extra change of clothes for your child up to age four because accidents happen. Better safe than sorry!
Ages 5+
Bring any labeled snacks that you would like us to provide to your child, along with any other items that will help your child feel comfortable.
All Ages
You are free to bring labeled snacks for your child, provided they are nut-free. Please be sure to notify us in the permission slip if your child has any allergies. Children will eat with their parents before the Alpha video begins. If the weather is nice, we will offer the opportunity to play outside for 20-30 minutes, so feel free to pack weather appropriate clothes or sunscreen.
What if my child is sick?
If your child becomes sick at child care, we will find you and ask you to bring your child home. If your child isn’t feeling well, we ask you to not bring him or her to prevent the spread of illness to other children.
What if I want to keep my child with me?
That is totally fine! Especially with nurslings or older children, we understand if it will be more comfortable for you to keep them with you during the entirety of Alpha. Just let us know what your plans are each Alpha session, and we will accommodate you accordingly.
