Jesus said, “Let the children come to me,
and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

CATECHESIS OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD (CGS)

Children going into K3-K5 are invited to participate in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS)--a Montessori-based religious and spiritual formation program that focuses on what is most essential in their relationship with Jesus.

KID'S SMALL GROUPS

Want Your Child to Grow in their Relationship with Christ?

Children in 1st-5th Grade are invited to join a Kid's Small Group.

In a Kid's Small Group, children will be invited to grow in their relationship with Jesus. They will also build community through engaging activities and forming friendships with their peers and faith-filled adults.

Small Groups meet Sunday mornings from 9:00AM-10:15AM at Christ King.

FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION PROCESS

Families from Christ King, St. Bernard, and St. Pius X who have children who are entering 2nd grade or above are welcome to prayerfully discern with their children participation in the Tri-Parish First Communion Preparation Process.

This is an exciting process to enter into, one that allows the child to draw closer to Jesus by receiving the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist for the first time.

The process includes:

  • Commitment to attending Sunday Mass

  • An initial discernment meeting between the family and the Director of Formation for Children

  • Child's participation in a Fall Kid's Small group with peers going through process

  • Parent(s)/child participation in a 6-week meditation series in the Spring

  • First Communion retreat

FAMILY OPPORTUNITIES

“God always knocks at the door of hearts. He likes to do this. It comes from His heart. But, do you know what He likes best? To knock on the doors of families and find families that are united, to find families that love each other, to find the families that bring up their children and educate them and help them to keep going forward and that create a society of goodness, of truth, and of beauty.”
-Pope Francis

Throughout the year, there will be opportunities for the family to come together and grow in faith including:

  • Advent & Lent Prayer Events

  • Service Experiences

  • And more!

"The lord is my shepherd,

i shall not want."
