Retreats give us the opportunity to disconnect from the busyness and monotony of everyday life, to put aside our to-do list and just be. This 26 hour getaway is all about the Holy Spirit and what He wants to do in your life. Take 26 hours to connect with friends, to view the world through a different lens, and to encounter God in a new way. Open to high school students participating in Alpha.

Frequently Asked Questions

 

Where and when is pick up and drop off?

  • Drop-Off - 11:00am: Meet at the Christ King parking lot at 11am. One parent (or designated adult) must accompany each student to check-in and do a baggage check. The check-in process should only take 15 minutes or less and then adults are free to leave.

  • Pick-Up - 1:00pm: We will return to Christ King on Sunday at noon. We will then have Mass on Sunday at 12:15pm in Christ King Church for all students and their families.

 

Where are we staying?

Camp Whitcomb Mason - James Lodge

How will we get there?

Students will all take a bus from Christ King to Camp Whitcomb-Mason. We will ask parents to help us transport the bags and sleeping bags. If you have an SUV and are available on Saturday or Sunday, please volunteer to help!

 

Who is this for?

All high school students who are participating in Alpha this fall. This retreat is a pivotal part of our semester and will act as the Confirmation retreat for all our juniors and our annual retreat for all freshmen and sophomores.

 

What should I bring?

[   ] Clothes: modest sleepwear and Sunday clothes

[   ] Sweatshirt or jacket (weather permitting, we will spend some time outside)

[   ] Toiletries

[   ] Bedding: you will have a bed, but need to bring a pillow and sheets/blanket or sleeping bag

[   ] Optional - prayer items: we will have an hour of Adoration and reconciliation in the evening.

       Students may want to bring a Bible, rosary, or other items to help them pray.

[   ] Optional: feel free to bring cards, games, a book, etc. for our evening free time

How can parents help?

Parent help is needed:

- Late night chaperones (9:30pm-12am)

· Bake desserts (2 dozen)

· Provide snack

· Help drive luggage to/from camp
